Only 15 more days with this crew! We are so proud of our 8th grade class and the ways in which they have grown. It’s been a year of learning, stretching, and stepping into who they are becoming. We have seen their resilience, their leadership, and the way they’ve shown up for each other and our school community. These last days are a chance to finish strong, make a few more memories, and take pride in how far they’ve come. We will be highlighting each one of our 8th grade graduates over the next few weeks. We’re grateful for this group and excited for what’s ahead of them.

We are counting down the days and making them count.

Huge shout-out to our amazing bus drivers for getting everyone home safely during today’s early dismissal. We are so grateful for the care, calm, and commitment they show each and every day—especially in moments like today.

Due to the severe weather forecast, the East Lynne 40 District will release at 1:00 PM.

We are monitoring Friday's weather and will make a decision in the morning about a possible early dismissal. The K and 1st field trip has been canceled.

One more round of storms is expected Friday afternoon/evening. Compared to previous rounds of storms this week, this round is shaping up to have higher chances for severe, including for the potential for very large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes.
What: Widespread strong to severe storms across the area. This includes all hazards (hail, wind, tornadoes) and the potential for higher end of each. Reasonable maximum hail sizes approaching baseball to softball in size, reasonable maximum wind gusts to around 80 mph, and a few tornadoes possible.
Where: Across the area. Large hail more likely more west. Damaging winds and a few tornadoes across the area.
When: Currently expecting an early-mid afternoon start and carrying on into the evening. Most reasonable timeframe looks to be 1pm-9pm.

5th grade combined their study of groundwater with a conversation on Westward Expansion. Today, these scientists attempted to dig a well and bring water to the surface-just like pioneers! Problem Solving and Critical Thinking Skills were important in their attempts to provide water for their ‘families’ as they pumped water from the aquifer.

Thank you to our amazing Parent Booster Group for the healthy snacks during Staff Appreciation Week. These special treats keep us energized and going strong for our students!
We appreciate you!

Thank you so much to our Parent Booster Group for providing massages for our staff. We always love it when we see Schroeder chiropractic walking through our door doors.

The Pleasant Hill School District has opened up the opportunity for summer school for our students. Summer School for Pleasant Hill will be from 5/28-6/26. They will be offering FREE breakfast and lunch. Let us know if you have any questions.

Next week, April 13-17, we are excited to celebrate Staff Appreciation Week—a special time to recognize the incredible people who pour their hearts into our school each and every day.
Our Parent Booster Group has some special things planned to honor our staff. If your family would like to join us in celebrating our staff, we encourage simple acts of kindness that can mean so much. A handwritten note, a quick email,
or a kind word shared with a staff member can make a lasting impact. Taking a moment to let someone know they are appreciated goes a long way.

Many thanks to our Middle School students who are leaders on our campus. This group takes the initiative each month to update our sign outside. And once it was updated, they offered to clean up the flowerbeds. Student engagement with the outdoors improves happiness and fosters a sense of pride!

Third quarter honor roll breakfast was this morning and we had so many scholars to celebrate!

The end of the year is always so busy! Here are some reminders of upcoming events. Stay connected with all of our events on our website.

Last week we celebrated something that truly defines who we are as a school community—kindness. 💛
Kindness isn’t always loud or noticed right away—but it is powerful. It’s seen in small moments: a smile, a kind word, patience with others, or stepping in when someone needs support. And because of these students and staff members, those moments are happening all around us.
To our honorees—thank you for setting the tone. You remind us that kindness matters, and that even the smallest actions can make a big difference.
